Information for the Fortnight residency can be found here: https://rebeccamezoff.com/fortnight.

There are no experience level requirements for this residency, as long as you can manage your own time and learning goals. Every level of artist can benefit from some focused time away from regular life.

You might consider planning your residency around one of these things:

  • Planning a body of work for a show

  • Working on a series of tapestry techniques you need to master

  • Working on a book or other writing project

  • Solitary time to find a new direction or recenter yourself and your work

Or you may just come and let the environment guide your thoughts and direction once you get here.

Application form

Please fill out this form and Emily will get back to you via email within a day or two with follow up information.

Terms for the residency

By filling out the form above and checking the Agreement of terms box, you are saying you understand and will abide by these things:

  • No smoking or pets at Luna Mesa.

  • Payment and cancellation policy as listed on the main Fortnight website page here: https://rebeccamezoff.com/fortnight.

  • All meals, transportation, and supplies are at the resident’s expense.

  • Rebecca’s availability for questions is limited to the timetable we set up in the preliminary Zoom meeting. Meetings with her are not mandatory and of course since we live here, you’ll see her a lot!

Additional materials required*

*If you received an email from Rebecca personally inviting you to this residency in 2024, you do not need to send these additional materials as she is familiar with your work.

In addition to the form above, please submit the information listed below via email to fortnightresidency@gmail.com:

  1. 3-10 images of your work in tapestry weaving. These do not have to be professional photos! Rebecca would just like to get a feel for your work so she can best assist you.

  2. Statement of intent for the residency: What are your artistic goals for your time here? How will this benefit your art practice after you leave? (This need not be lengthy! A paragraph or two is enough.)

  3. Resume or CV about your weaving. (If you don’t have a formal CV, that is okay! It is a great exercise to list what you’ve done, so take some time to think about your weaving so far and make a list about it. It’ll be a great reference in the future. Include things like who you’ve taken classes with, if you’ve had work in any shows including community or unjuried shows, and what your future interests are in terms of making art and specifically weaving if that applies.)
