A Change the Shed recorded episode! "It's Fine" is nearing completion.

I wanted to share the Change the Shed update I did in June for my Patreon members. The “It’s Fine” tapestry continues and I’m nearing the end. I’ll have a couple more updates in Patreon before it comes off the loom.

In that video I was working a bit on some 16 epi vs. 8 epi sections and then ended with some work on the clouds which included some slit sewing.

One of the downsides of taking so long to finish a tapestry like this one is that I forget what I was doing if I don’t come back to it for a couple weeks. Not only do I sometimes miss critical image pieces but I may have done something structurally or technically that I’ve forgotten about and then feel a little confused when I come back to it.

In general I find that tapestries go much better if I consistently work on them until they’re done. But if I can’t do that, it is very helpful to leave myself notes with anything that I might find confusing if I don’t come back to the weaving for a few weeks or sometimes longer. I also try to stop at a place where I’ll know what to do next when I start again.

Do any of you have tricks for remembering what you’re doing when you come back to a tapestry?

Unconformity 2 in progress with a note about the color progression since that is a recent change in the work.

I’m doing a live Change the Shed next week Wednesday. July 29 at 10:30 am MT on YouTube HERE. I will be working on the “It’s Fine” tapestry, so join me live or you can find the recording at that link as well.
