My newest tapestry course is called Introduction to Tapestry Weaving. It is for people who have just started learning tapestry weaving and was produced in response to requests for an easier entry to the field than my comprehensive Warp and Weft course provides. So I made a simple beginning class that stands alone but leads into Warp and Weft. If you find out you want to keep learning, you can jump right into the larger course (with a discount for the full price you paid for Introduction to Tapestry Weaving).
I’ve also had a lot of people ask me if they can buy a kit as they get started in tapestry. Finally there is a kit that includes my new course. It is sold by Gist Yarn and includes Introduction to Tapestry Weaving, a Mirrix Saffron loom, cotton seine twine warp, and 5 colors of Array tapestry yarn. You can find that bundle on Gist’s website HERE.* You can also purchase the kit without the loom or just the yarn (warp and weft) at that same link in case you already have the course and/or a loom.
In Introduction to Tapestry Weaving, I teach you the most important introductory concepts in tapestry weaving and lead you through practicing them in four different projects. These projects could be endlessly modified for a wide variety of practice. Find more information on my website HERE.
The Art of Tapestry Weaving book and Introduction to Tapestry Weaving bundle
For the holidays, I’m offering a bundle of a signed copy of my book, The Art of Tapestry Weaving with the course, Introduction to Tapestry Weaving. The bundle also comes with a complimentary copy of my first book, Untangled: A Crafty Sheep’s Guide to Tapestry Weaving ($20 value).
This bundle is a fantastic gift for anyone who might be interested in learning to weave tapestry. I only have a limited number of them, so if you’d like to get one for yourself, suggest it to a family member for your holiday gift, or you have a friend who would love to learn to weave, grab one now. You’ll find it in my SHOP.
What are you weaving or making this week?
*Gist Yarn is a company that sources materials from producers, mills, and dyehouses in the USA. They are committed to sustainability and supporting local economy. I highly recommend supporting this company. Their yarns are gorgeous and finally there is a tapestry yarn made in the United States.
